With the NFL Draft in the rearview, we now have a much better idea of what each team’s roster will look like this season. Now is a good time to take a look at the rookie predictions for 2022.
The recent move to a 17-game season will inevitably lead to higher rookie productivity than we’ve seen before 2021, but we also have to remember that freshman players generally have to learn. So who will stand out? Which newly selected players will lead the main statistical categories? How many yards should we expect from first-round quarterback Kenny Pickett? Which talented wide receiver in the class will have the most production and who will outperform all the newcomers in tackles?
Let’s take a look at the top five prospective rookie leaders in various categories for the 2022 season. These team and player predictions are my own, compiled through a rigorous process that is both quantitative (league, team, coaching staff and player trends) and qualitative (predicted position and role in the depth chart). And for full statistics, visit our forecast page sort and filter the entire league. I often update it before the start of the season.
