What you need to know about Saturday games

Amid endless debate over MVP criteria and nomination, it’s only fitting that Saturday’s DFS roster is determined by a choice between Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic and Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid. They won’t face each other directly until the end of March, but tonight at DraftKings they’re just $400 apart, with similar predictions hovering around fantastic 60 points.

Considering how well Embiid’s opponent, the Boston Celtics rival, defended him – he was a dozen fantastic points short of his prediction earlier this month – it would probably make more sense to team up with Jokic on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies. The size and presence of Stephen Adams on glass.

Whether you’re building around one of these stunning giants or targeting Jason Tatum or LaMelo Ball, it’s important to recognize Saturday’s list’s standout values; players like the Grizzlies’ Brandon Clarke or the San Antonio Spurs’ Zach Collins seem poised to deliver a real return on investment.

Saturday’s roster is also rife with strong streaming numbers, with the Magic’s Markelle Fultz (40% available) being the second most added player last week in Sportzshala leagues, ahead of today’s game against a weak defense by the Indiana Pacers. The Charlotte Hornets are finally getting big lines from Gordan Hayward (44% available), just as the Miami Heat comes to town.

Injury Report:

Celtics: Danilo Gallinari (DK – Knee)

Brown is averaging 26.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season. He must meet or exceed the average per game against the 76ers. – Eric Moody

Best bet: Joel Embiid over 42.5 points + rebounds. Embiid is having another epic season. In his last eight games, he averaged 30.4 points and 11.8 rebounds. The Celtics are currently in first place in the Eastern Conference, so Embiid will be motivated to show a great game. Fantasy streamer: James Wiseman (listed 13.0%) should get his first start against the Raptors and Jalen Duren ruled out with bilateral ankle soreness. This season, Wiseman is averaging 16.2 points and 12.8 rebounds in 40 minutes. If you play in a league with 12 or 14 teams, you should consider it as an option for streaming. – Moody

Best bet: Raptors -6.5. Raptors head coach Dwayne Casey may want to keep him on his former team, and the Pistons have too many injuries to cover the spread. Detroit ranks 29th in points scored per 100 possessions. The Raptors have won six of their last seven games. Toronto also doesn’t flip the ball, having the lowest turnover rate in the league. The Raptors are playing great basketball right now, and that trend should continue against the Pistons. – Moody

Hornets: Cody Martin (OUT – Knee); Theo Maledon, (OUT – ankle)
Note: BPI figures include players who are excluded but assume that GTD players will play.

Trend:Last night, the Heat suffered a heavy loss to the Bucks in Milwaukee, and the Hornets upset the Timberwolves. With both teams in back-to-back returns and tonight’s game in North Carolina, it’s understandable that this line comes relatively close. That said, the Heat are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight meetings, and last night stars Jimmy Butler (21′) and Bam Adebayo (25′) handled less workloads, suggesting there’s room for more strong performance. in Charlotte tonight. -McCormick

Best bet: Hornets +5.0. The Hornets need to play well enough to cover from the Heat. Miami has a dismal record of 21-36-3 this season, the worst record in the league. As a road team, the Heat are 12-17-1 against the spread. Now that they’re healthy, the Hornets have won four games in a row. The Heat have lost four games in a row. – Moody

Indiana Pacers at Orlando Magic

Records (against spread)

Pacers: 26-35 (32-29-0)
Magic: 25-35 (33-25-2)

Line: Magic (-2.5)
Performance Index Forecast: Magic: 119.4-117

Predicted BPI Winner: Magic (58.7%)
General: 232 Predicted BPI: 236.4

Injury Report:

Pacers: Kendall Brown (EXIT – shin)
Magic: not reported
Note: BPI figures include players who are excluded but assume that GTD players will play.

Trend: We just saw the Pacers and Celtics hit 280 in overtime earlier this week, and the Magic and Pacers hit 246 in the Orlando competition a month ago. With Tyrese Haliburton raising Indiana’s offensive ceiling and the Pacers finishing 26th defensively in the last 10 games, there’s some potential to get out today. After all, this match exceeded the total in 11 of the last 14 direct meetings. -McCormick

Best bet: Markell Fultz over 24.5 points + assists + rebounds. Fultz has a very favorable matchup against the Pacers, who are ranked 25th in points allowed per 100 possessions. Over the last 12 games, Fultz averaged 14.6 points, 5.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds. On Saturday night he should put on a great performance for the players.– Moody

Trend: Even when the Knicks played on Friday, they’re vying for success at Madison Square Garden as they take on a depleted Pelicans roster. New Orleans has only won once in its last nine road games and has only scored once in its last nine games against Eastern Conference opponents. -McCormick

Best bet: Knicks -2.5. The Pelicans struggled without Zion Williamson. New Orleans is 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games. As the Knicks played well before the All-Star break, they continued that trend against the Wizards on Friday. New York is 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five home games. – Moody

Money line: Nuggets (+118), Grizzlies (-140)

General: 235 Predicted BPI: 241.9

Injury Report:

Nuggets: Aaron Gordon, (OUT – Ribs); Zeke Nnaji, (EXIT – Shoulder)
Grizzlies: Steven Adams (EXIT – Knee)
Note: BPI figures include players who are excluded but assume that GTD players will play.

Trend: The Grizzlies have struggled to get wins lately but are still second in the league in defensive rankings this season. Offensively, however, they dropped to just 18th, while in seven of the nine tournaments this season, when their total number reached 234, they lost their tickets. Denver, meanwhile, is third in the defensive rankings in the last 10 games. under has some appeal. -McCormick

Fantasy streamer: Vlatko Cancar (listed in 0.3% of Sportzshala leagues) He is expected to get many minutes, with Aaron Gordon and Zeke Nnaji ruled out with injuries. Deeper format executives who need a streamer should take note. This season, Kankar averaged 14.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 40 minutes. – Moody

Best bet: Nikola Jokic over 37.5 points + rebounds. The absence of Stephen Adams hurt the Grizzlies, especially in terms of rebounding. Jokic averaged 23.0 points and 14.1 rebounds per…
