Fantasy Football Week 3 Running Back Rankings: How to handle J.K. Dobbins in his return?

It’s great to see J.K. Dobbins set to make his debut in Week 3 against the Patriots, and he’s come a long way since suffering a rather horrific injury last preseason that required reconstructive surgery. He worked hard to get back, and the Ravens were patient with him, playing the long game, keeping him out of the field for the first few weeks, even as he sought a cleanup.

But I’m not quite ready to include him in my fantasy football roster just yet. I’m not saying Dobbins is mandatory or anything like that, but I’m also not ready to treat him like an RB2 you could have drafted him with. Robbins is the RB30 for me in his debut and that basically reflects my belief that he will work on the goal line. I expect him to have a fast count and a 20 carry debut seems highly unlikely.

Chances are you’ll get around a dozen carries and you’re hoping he’ll show enough juice to break a long run or two and get into the end zone. It’s a tough matchup against a very good Patriot defense, but the Ravens need to be able to move the ball well enough to give it some room. If Dobbins does make it to the end zone, he should be good enough to justify his place in your roster – if not, he probably won’t impress. This makes it RB3 if I’ve ever heard of such a thing.
