Owen Farrell will captain England against Argentina on Sunday, with Alex Coles making his Test debut.
In the absence of Courtney Laws, Farrell’s skipper team became Eddie Jones’ team again, with Northampton’s second-row Coles earning his first test cap in the package.
This match will be the first of four in England this autumn and despite the team struggling with a plethora of injuries, Jones could opt for Manu Tuilagi in midfield alongside Farrell, with Marcus Smith at midfield and Ben Youngs at number 9. Freddie Steward , Jack Nowell and Joe Kokanashiga form the back three.
In the group, Ellis Genge, Luke Cowan-Dickey and Kyle Sinclair form the front row, with Coles partnering with Johnny Hill in the second row. Maro Itoye, Tom Curry and Billy Vunipola selected in the back row.
Mako Vunipola and Jack Willis are among those named to replace Northampton’s David Ribbans, who could earn his first cap if given a chance off the bench.
“It’s been a really good week of preparation and I’m very happy with the attitude of the team,” Jones said.
“They have shown a true work ethic and determination to improve, and our leaders, Owen, Ellis and Jack, have really lifted the team.
“We are looking forward to a great rugby game in a full Twickenham stadium against a very good Argentine team. Rugby has fallen on hard times lately and we hope these autumn games will show how special this game is.”
