Revis is a four-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler who is considered by some to be the best cornerback of his era. He won the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots after the 2014 season. Thomas never played a single postseason game in an 11-season career with the dying Cleveland Browns franchise, but he was one of the best left tackle players ever, with 10 Pro Bowl tackles and eight All-Pro honors.

Harrison is a two-time Super Bowl champion and one-time Defensive Player of the Year as a longtime face of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ furious defense. He has won five Pro Bowls and earned four All-Pro selections. Freeney won seven Pro Bowls, five All-Pro teams and won the Super Bowl as a pass rusher for the Indianapolis Colts. His 125 1/2 career sacks rank 18th all-time.

Chancellor was the muscle of the Seattle Seahawks’ famed minor boom legion in strong security. He won four Pro Bowls, two All-Pro teams and won the Super Bowl.

Other notable names returning to the ballot as previous finalists include wide receivers Torrey Holt and Andre Johnson, return specialist Devin Hester, defenseman Jared Allen, linebackers Zach Thomas and DeMarcus Ware, and defenseman Rhond Barber.

The list will be reduced to 25 semi-finalists in November and 15 finalists in January. A maximum of five adherents will then be elected to the Hall, requiring an 80% yes vote to be elected. A selection committee of 49 media representatives will decide who will be included in the list.
