When a four star defender Jayden Rashad moved the date of his decision from June 18 to June 26, it was not in vain. He had already attended four of his top five schools, including Florida, but Miami was still looking for him in the city. Postponement allowed him to schedule a trip to Coral Gables for June 21, his fifth and final official recruiting visit.
Florida and Texas A&M currently considered leaders LSU and Ole Miss fill out the rest of the top five, but Miami could have the final say. However, the Hurricanes have just added three-star quarterback Emory Williams. Miami head coach Mario Cristobal has been recruiting Rashada ever since he was in Oregon and his new team is heading in the right direction, according to 247Sport.
But will it be enough to defeat Florida and TAMA?
The answer will be easier to decipher after the visit, but there’s a reason he makes that last stop. Jayden’s father, Harlen, has been heavily involved in the recruitment process and is confident that his son will make the right decision when all is said and done.
“Jayden is very smart, was patient and focused during the recruitment process and really gave all of his top colleges the opportunity to represent their schools and stance on the development and direction of the program,” said Harlen Rashada. “…He can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I’m sure he will make a great decision for his future as a student-athlete when he makes the commitment.”
Billy Napier is likely to contact Rashada’s camp daily and all five teams will likely be after him after Sunday’s announcement. Signing day isn’t until December, and Rashada is the top idle quarterback from the west and is ranked seventh overall by 247Sports.
Rashada has become a prime target for the Florida quarterback, unless something is brewing. Arch Manningso the alligator nation will keep a close eye on him for the next week and beyond.
