For second day in a row Notre Dame lands 2023 defensive commitment

Notre Dame ended the workweek with strong recruiting as they committed to playing defensive end for the second day in a row on Friday for the Class of 2023.

On Thursday it was a four-star midfielder Jayden Osberry Who are they pulled from the literal shadow of LSU Tiger Stadium in obtaining a commitment. On Friday, there was a recent offer from Ohio that announced he would be playing football at Notre Dame.

Ben MinichThe three-star quarterback from Cincinnati announced Friday that this is Notre Dame for him, choosing the Irish over Cincinnati, Duke and Wake Forest as finalists.

Minich is registering at 5-11.5, 185 pounds and is about to begin his senior season at Lakota High School in Cincinnati. He had about 25 scholarship offers, including from Power Five programs in Iowa, OklahomaPurdue, Indiana and Wisconsin Just to name a few.

Minich adds depth to safety in the 2023 class as he is third in position to commit. He joins Peyton Bowen as well as Adon Shuler in the classroom, providing valuable insurance should one of them end up changing their mind about going to college.

Notre Dame is now ranked number one in 2023 recruiters by 247Sports as an Irish advantage. Alabama on the nose. Georgia, Ohio, Texasand Oklahoma round out the top six.

Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame are hoping the No. 23 commitment won’t take long as the Irish are finalists in the running back. Dylan Edwards who is going to announce his decision to go to college on Saturday.
