Spring Branch (TX) Smithson Valley four-star offensive tackle and Texas A&M commitment Colton Thomasson all set for the All-American Bowl, this week he received his Road to the Dome jersey.
“It was an honor for me,” Tomasson said. “It was so great to wear it in front of my community and everyone who supported me. It was really cool”
The All-American Bowl has been the nation’s premier high school sporting event for 20 years and will return to San Antonio, Texas on January 7, 2023, where it will air live on national NBC. Over 20,000 fans flock to the Alamo Dome.
“Just showcasing my talents on the biggest high school stage and ending my career in the best city and the best community in my hometown,” Tomasson said of what he’s looking forward to.
Game alumni including Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Trevor Lawrence, Keenan Allen, Odell Beckham Jr., Stephon Diggs, Marchon Lattimore, Chase Young, Naji Harris, Mika Parsons, Patrick Petersonderrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, Ezekiel Elliott as well as Quenton Nelson. Game legends include Adrian Peterson and Joe Thomas.
“It means everything to me,” Tomasson said. “Now I’m starting a long journey to add to that roster of NFL offensive linemen.”
In July, Thomasson signed with Texas A&M and remains “100%” committed to the Aggies.
“Everyone can look at the big picture and see that we are on the rise,” Tomasson said. “I know a five-loss streak belies that, but we’re playing 22 real freshmen. We had a lot of injuries. A little unlucky with injuries, as well as with the experience that will come with time. You can see the freshmen begin to develop. After the loss in Florida, we had 20 of our players drop out.
“Not only do I love the amazing program Coach Fisher has developed, but Aggie’s network and the connections you can get by wearing this Aggie ring.”
