It’s time for the Battle of the Wild. While many Power 5 teams are playing non-conference games this weekend ahead of next week’s rivalry games, this is not the case in Montana. College GameDay is held in Bozeman, Montana for the Montana Grizzlies and Montana State Bobcats.

With the exception of 1915, 1918, 1924 and 1942-45, when it was suspended due to World War II, this rivalry has been held every year since 1897. Montana snapped the Lynx’s four-game winning streak last year.

Montana State is on a seven-game winning streak this season and is 9-1 this season. The Bobcats are the second highest scoring team in the FCS. This season they have three rushers who have rushed for over 450 yards.

Returning to FBS, three of the top five teams in the college football playoff rankings are hitting the road this weekend. The game with the biggest playoff implications is probably the No. 7 USC Trojans taking on their out-of-town rivals, the No. 16 UCLA Bruins.
