The New York Jets’ offensive line has gone through some changes over the last couple of seasons, especially the last two as they try to protect quarterback Zach Wilson.
Due to injuries and other issues, Wilson hasn’t exactly received that kind of protection in 2021. He finished third last season in sacks with 44. Only Bengals QB Joe Burrow (51) and Titans QB Ryan Tannehill (47) were sacked more than Wilson in the regular season.
This offseason, the Jets are hoping for better luck ahead of them. Right tackle Mehka Beckton returned from a kneecap injury and an MCL sprain in the first week of last season. The Jets also added free agent guard Laken Tomlinson to handle the left side of the line, moving sophomore guard Alija Vera-Tucker to right guard.
The person who will run Zach Wilson’s blind side is left tackle George Fant, who had a very good 2021 and looks locked in the left tackle position. spoke to New York Jets reporter Ethan Greenberg and shared his thoughts on the Jets’ front five offense, team growth, and defensive line.
