The giants have declared safety Nate Meadors from rejections on Thursday. It came the day after the Browns waived the Medors to make room for the signing of wide receiver Dalen Baldwin.
Giants Rookie Safety Dane Belton broke his collarbone on Monday, leaving the team in a shorthanded position. Belton, who was selected in the fourth round, is expected to miss at least the preseason.
Meadors entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019 from UCLA, signing with the Vikings. He spent most of two seasons on their practice team.
He appeared in three games with the Vikings, seeing action on 11 defensive snaps and 37 on special teams, as well as making two tackles.
Meadors has also spent time on the Jaguars, Eagles and Browns practice teams, but he hasn’t played in a game since the 2020 season for the Vikings.
