Gono lined up as a backup right tackle and fought to be a turning tackle. Beginners Josh Ezeudou as well as Marcus McKethan will climb up the depth chart with Gono’s departure.

Ezeudou is also the insurer at both points of protection.

During the off-season, Gono signed a one-year contract with the Giants.

He has spent his entire career with the Falcons since signing as an undrafted free agent with the club in 2018. He appeared in 21 games, of which he started four with Atlanta.

But Gono last played in 2020. He underwent surgery for an unknown injury and missed the entire 2021 season before the Falcons released him at the end of January.
