Gina Carano responds to Ronda Rousey about potential fight: ‘It could happen’

Gina Carano hasn’t fought in over a decade but doesn’t rule out a return to the cage if Ronda Rousey becomes her opponent.

The former Strikeforce and Elite XC star addressed the matchup after Rousey recently said that Carano was the only fight that would bring her out of retirement since her last UFC fight in 2016.

“You know what? Just never forget it,” Carano said when asked about Rosie. FOX News. “It could happen. It will be in six months because I have a lot of things to do.”

Carano has never officially retired from fighting, despite her last fight in 2009 when she was defeated by TKO in the first round by Cris Cyborg in Strikeforce. After this fight, she focused on her acting career and landed several high-profile roles in films such as Chaos, Furious 6 as well as Dead Pool.

Carano has had a recurring role on Disney+ in recent years. star Wars series The Mandalorian until she made controversial comments on social media that eventually led to her being fired from the show.

Although Rousey is currently a top star and WWE Women’s Champion, she said the chance to fight Carano could put her back in the octagon.

“I will fight Gina wherever she wants,” Rosie told Kurt Angle on her podcast. “Even if she doesn’t want to forever, leave that offer there.

“This is respect, not ‘fuck you.’ I’m coming for you. It’s like, “Hey, if you ever want to pull that card, it’s there.” I love her. Thank you Gina for everything you’ve done.”

If a real fight doesn’t happen, Carano appears ready to continue the scripted fight while working with Rosie on a future film or TV project.

“I really want to create, I want to direct, I want to produce,” Carano said. “I want to give Ronda Rousey a job in one of my films, so maybe we can do something there.”
