Safety Harrison Smith was mentioned as a potential casualty in Minnesota this offseason, but he won’t be leaving the Vikings.
According to multiple reports, Smith and the Vikings worked out a renegotiated contract agreement that would keep Smith on the team.
Smith was set to make $14.7 million this season, with the cap exceeding $19.1 million in a deal that runs through 2025. Jan Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Smith now do $8 million of which $2 million is in incentives for the 2023 season.
Smith spent his entire 11-year career with the Vikings and made 85 tackles last season, throwing five passes in 14 games for the team. He will have a chance to repeat such success in 2023.
