Tiger Woods is currently ranked 1266th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

In two Mondays, he will be able to get into the top 250.

Woods is scheduled to return to competition at the Hero World Challenge next week, his first start since The Open at St Andrews in July. What if Woods had won the 18-man tournament at Albany in the Bahamas? OWGR guru on Twitter, Nosferatu, predicts that in this case, Woods will rise more than 1000 positions in the world rankings, immediately into the top 250.

Of course, with eight of the world’s top 11 players competing and Woods still limited for almost two years before the car crash in February 2021, it’s unlikely that Woods will lift the tiger-topped trophy. But if Woods had somehow won, because Hero is an unofficial Tour event, he would not have earned his 83rd career win and would not have broken his tie with Sam Sneed on the Tour’s career win record.

Woods lifted it three times this year, finishing 47th at the Masters, pulling out after three rounds of the PGA Championship and missing at the Old Course.

We may see him play three times in December.

In addition to his Hero start, Woods will play in the next version of The Match on December 10 at the Pelican Golf Club in Bel Air, Florida. He could also play in the PNC Championship with son Charlie in Orlando, Florida, a tournament he has entered in each of the past two years but has yet to officially enter.
