In expected move, Trail Blazers pick up guarantee Josh Hart next season

On Saturday, Cronin backed up those words with action.

As expected, the Trail Blazers guaranteed Hart $12.9 million for next season, Oregon’s Aaron J. Fentress confirms.

As Fentress notes, Hart has a very interesting mutual option for the 2023-24 season, when both he and the team must agree on his return. The upcoming season will be the second season of the three-year, $39.7 million contract he signed with the Pelicans.

It’s also a very attractive salary if Portland decides to take it one step further – Hart has fans in the front offices across the league. He does pretty well and plays hard every night.

Hart has averaged 19.9 points per game on an impressive 62.2 shooting percentage in the 13 games he has played with the Trail Blazers this season. Damian Lillard from (Hart came to New Orleans as part of CJ McCollum trade). He needs to find a comfortable role on the roster with Lillard Straw Grantre-signed Anferny Simonsand someone else that the Trail Blazers complete their roster with.
