Manchester City have staged their first ever Metaverse kit launch with the unveiling of their new third alternate kit for the 2022-23 Premier League season on the Roblox gaming platform.

Following the eye-catching red and black diagonal stripes on the away shirt, the third kit of the defending champions of England is bright neon yellow with washed out dark stripes on the torso.

The colors are officially described by Puma as “fizzy light” and “Paris night”, who also say the striped design is inspired by the Manchester worker bee, a famous symbol of the city’s industrial past.

The spray paint effect used to create the stripes is also intended as a tribute to the street art found on walls throughout the city and the graffiti artists who create it.

Stars of the city including Laura Coombs, Calvin Phillips and Ruben Diaz modeled the jersey very much like the real world.

The club has opened new horizons, revealing his new hi-vis strip on Roblox – which, for the uninitiated, is an online gaming platform that allows players to create and share their own games.

At a special Metaverse event, the Roblox lobby was repainted in city colors to vaguely resemble the Etihad Stadium and gave players the opportunity to explore and interact with both the new third and home kits.

In addition to launching the Quirky Cyberkit, players who support City also have the opportunity to compete and win prizes through the Puma-created Football Rush event, including digital versions of the new kits in the form of custom Roblox skins.

Puma will also be hosting a Football Rush tournament on YouTube where two teams of five Roblox players will battle it out to win their share of the $10,000 in prize money that can be used in Roblox.

I apologize to everyone who was born in the 20th or early 21st century and therefore did not understand a single world of this.
