Izzy Stricker, youngest daughter of Steve Stricker, commits to Wisconsin women’s golf team

Last month, Izzy Stricker, Steve Stricker’s youngest daughter, came from behind to win the Waunakee High School Individual State Championship outside of Madison.

Now she has made the decision to go to college and live close to home. She joined the women’s golf program in Wisconsin earlier this month, Stricker said. Wisconsin Golffollowing the Badger family tradition.

“I kind of always knew I wanted to go to Wisconsin, so I didn’t think about other schools,” Stricker told Wisconsin.Golf. “I always dreamed of following in the footsteps of my mother and sister and going to Wisconsin, and as a child I always enjoyed attending football and basketball games. I feel at home at the university and I could never imagine myself anywhere else.

“I called coach Orlein and said that I would like to be a badger. I was very grateful that he dedicated himself to me very early, and I wanted to do the same.”

Steve Stricker’s wife, Nicky, was Wisconsin’s women’s club champion for four consecutive years, where her grandfather Dennis Tiziani was head coach from 1989 to 2003. Tiziani also coached the Wisconsin men’s team from 1977 to 2003.

And Izzy’s older sister, Bobbie, played tennis in high school but then moved to the Badgers golf team and saw her average drop from 79 to 74.6 by her senior year. After graduating from Wisconsin, she won the Wisconsin Women’s Amateur Championship along with her mom.
