Cornerback Packers Jare Alexander got a big contract extension this off-season due to how well he played during his first four seasons in the NFL.

One reason for his rapid rise to the top of the league’s cornerback rankings was how hard he was pushed during practice. Alexander lined up opposite Davante Adams during these sessions, meeting with Adams helped Alexander hone his game before he took on opposing players.

Adams is now in Las Vegas and the plan to fill his spot on offense includes a second-round pick. Christian Watson and fourth round Romeo Dubs. Alexander said he would do his best to simulate the same training conditions that helped him succeed when the team heads to training camp this summer.

“I’ve played against the best wide receiver in the league, Davante Adams, for the entire four years I’ve been here,” Alexander said on the team’s website. “I will do my best for these guys because I know it will pay off on Sunday. Iron sharpens iron. However, I can help make them better, and I’m going to do that.”

Alexander got his new contract because of what he means to defense. It will look like a small deal if he can also help the offense move forward without wasting a second.
