The Saints sent Winston and Thomas to London for a week, so of course they thought that while the team was traveling there was a good chance they could play. But both were slowly recovering.

It continues a disappointing trend: Winston started the first seven games for the Saints last season and helped them start 5-2, but then he lost the entire season with an ACL tear. Thomas’ injury problems have been even more severe, with him missing the entire 2021 season and most of 2020.

Dalton will be supported on Sunday Taysome Hill. Without Thomas, a promising newcomer to the Saints Chris Olav chances are he’ll get more passes.
