James Bradberry: Winning a lot helped me come to peace with Giants release

The Giants’ cap situation this offseason made it inevitable that they were about to part with cornerback. James Bradburybut their decision to wait until May to release him meant that other teams had already spent most of their free agent budgets before he became available.

Bradberry eventually signed a one-year contract with the Eagles and he joined them. Darius Slay as a very effective full-back duo for an 11-1 team. Bradberry is getting his first chance to face his old team this weekend, and this week he said he doesn’t feel the match evoked the same level of emotion that was evident to the wide receiver. AJ Brown against the Titans over the weekend.

“I think the situations were a bit different. . . . I’ve come to terms with it,” Bradberry said via Dave Zangaro of NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com. “And the fact that we won a lot of football matches helped me in this. I’m part of the Eagles, we’re winning and I’ll try to keep it going.”

Bradberry’s strong play and the Eagles’ winning record should set him up well for biting the free agent’s apple this offseason, so he has plenty of motivation beyond sticking him to the Giants this Sunday.
