He remains one of the most recognizable faces in the sport.however, and admits that the opportunity to make millions on the LIV series prompted him to contact Norman, its CEO and commissioner, to ask for a spot on the track.

“I begged Greg Norman to let me do the LIV tour,” he told Piers Morgan uncensored. “Every week on the Champions tour, I play two or three pro players and we don’t play for big money, so I almost think, ‘OK, I don’t get much from this. What are we doing?” ?

“Look, sometimes I prefer to play with amateurs than with professionals, but we should be compensated for this. Tour LIV gives players that. this is the money these guys on this tour deserve. And I think there are a lot of other guys who deserve that money. Especially this old man!”

Daley also accused LIV naysayers of hypocrisy when it came to criticizing the human rights situation in Saudi Arabia, despite the fact that bin Salman, the country’s crown prince, was accused of endorsing the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.

“It’s incredible,” Daley said. “The politics in this is so stupid. I could talk about Nike, I could talk about other companies. Little eight-year-olds make shoes for Nike. talk about labor law We’re talking about golf Guys who play golf It’s an international sport.

“The prince of Saudi Arabia is a great guy and has given so much money to the golfers who deserve it. Well, there are some who don’t deserve it because I have to be on this tour.”
