Wide receiver John Ross has been one of the most disappointing draft picks in recent years, but he hopes his career isn’t over yet.
Ross is close to recovering from a knee injury he suffered last season and is looking forward to signing with a team early in the season, his agent told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
The Bengals took Ross 9th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft – before the Chiefs drafted Patrick Mahomes with number 10. Ross did not catch a pass in his rookie season due to injuries and only caught 51 passes for the Bengals in four years. He played for the Giants last year and caught 11 passes.
While Ross has lightning speed and was a prolific college wide receiver in Washington, he hasn’t shown anything in the NFL yet. If he gets another chance, it might be his last chance.
