Jorge Masvidal has a “Bad Mother F*****” proposal for Conor McGregor.
‘Gamebred’ has talked about wanting to fight McGregor in the past and he’s still interested in seeing this fight happen, but he believes it needs to happen as soon as possible before McGregor’s rock star lifestyle potentially gets the best of him. .
“Obviously before this guy overdoses on cocaine and then the fight never happens and I can’t make all that easy money, I just want to smash Conor’s face,” Masvidal said in an interview. blockactive. “Let’s get this paycheck, let’s get this out of the way by selling the most pay-per-view views before this guy hurts himself or anyone else. I’ll just, boom, get that check fast because I have kids, right? I need the damn money.”
Masvidal is currently dealing with his own off-the-cage issues as he is currently involved in a lawsuit with rival Colby Covington after he was charged with aggravated battery with serious bodily harm and criminal mischief following an alleged assault on Covington in Miami. Beach, Florida, last March.
McGregor has been involved in numerous legal battles over the past few years, including two separate allegations of sexual harassment and arrests in Florida and his native Dublin related to public physical altercations. He remains one of MMA’s most attractive faces, with opponents lining up for his comeback as he recovers from a broken leg he sustained against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
Masvidal was asked if he would put his one-of-a-kind “BMF” title on the line against McGregor if his opponent demanded it, and he replied that it was possible for the right price.
“I’d pull the BMF belt just for a bad motherfucker and some cash,” Masvidal said. “You bad bastard, you have money, let’s invest some money, let’s make a small deposit. I save a couple million, you save a couple million, and the belt is the icing on the cake. What the bad bastard would do is get that money. It’s there, but it has to meet my requirements, and with this belt, I’m like a damn tyrant.”
If the fight with McGregor does not take place, Masvidal has also expressed interest in fighting Gilbert Burns or a rematch with Stephen Thompson.
There is also the possibility that former Masvidal challenger Leon Edwards will upset welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 278 in August, and if Edwards offered Masvidal the chance to settle the dispute in a title fight, he would take that opportunity as well.
“This is another intangible,” Masvidal said. “Am I going to give up the fight for the title? Of course not. I’ll get my ass in shape and get ready for this damn bully and do my best to smash his face. There are many intangibles, many things that can happen. I can prepare for the 10th racket of the world, and then suddenly I am fighting for the world championship.
“Remember, my name is Jorge Masvidal, I’m the same guy who took over that world title fight with six days’ notice in the middle. [Coronavirus] pandemic, flew across the world to end this battle. I’m telling you that I don’t even know what I’m going to do myself. I’m so unpredictable. I will always choose the best options.”
Despite all the uncertainty surrounding his ongoing legal battle and his fellow welterweight plans, Masvidal is adamant that he will book the fight before the end of 2022.
“I would say that I would like to be [at Madison Square Garden] in December,” Masvidal said. “This is a high probability, November, December. I will definitely fight this year, no matter what. I don’t want to talk too much about this, but as you know, I have some issues and things I need to sort out. But I’ll be there.”
