Jose Johnson vs. Garret Armfield pulled from UFC Vegas 70 card

Contender Series veteran Jose Johnson will have to wait until a later date to make his Octagon debut after being ruled out of UFC Vegas 70 due to health issues.

With Johnson unable to compete, his fight with Garrett Armfield was removed from the card. This was announced on Thursday by representatives of the UFC.

With a record of 15-7, Johnson made his way to the UFC with three straight wins. His streak ended with a unanimous decision victory over Jack Cartwright in the Dana White Contender Series in August this year.

Johnson was previously scheduled to make his debut in November last year, but he was also forced to pull out of that fight. Now an unnamed medical problem will once again prevent him from fighting.

As for Armfield, he achieved his first UFC win after losing in his debut against David Onama in July 2022. This loss ended a three win streak in regional promotions such as Shamrock FC.

With Johnson vs. Armfield canceled, UFC Vegas 70 is moving forward with 12 fights, including the main event that sees Nikita Krylov take on Ryan Spann in a five-round light heavyweight division.
