Possibly the best – and by far the biggest – fight in the history of women’s boxing has been set for a rematch. Following Amanda Serrano’s thrilling victory over Erica Cruz, it was confirmed that Serrano would face Katie Taylor in a rematch on May 20 for Taylor’s undisputed lightweight championship. Eddie Hearn announced that the match was set as Taylor entered the ring for a post-fight faceoff.
The couple met in April 2022 when the fight sold out at Madison Square Garden in New York. The overcrowded crowd cheered at the thrilling battle in which Taylor struggled to make the decision to retain her four world titles. The bout became a landmark moment for women’s boxing, bringing in both big money and merchandising the ring in an exciting war.

After retaining her belts against Serrano, Taylor defended her belts with a unanimous decision over Karen Carabajal in October. In addition to a tough win over Cruz, Serrano also picked up a September win over Sarah Mahfud.
Taylor attended Serrano’s fight with Cruz, meeting her opponent in the post-fight faceoff ring.

Taylor (22-0, 6 KOs) has never fought in her native Ireland, the country for which she won the 2012 Olympic lightweight gold.
