The Los Angeles Clippers still don’t know when Kawhi Leonard will return to the floor.

on Sunday night due to knee pain related to an ACL injury while the Clippers hosted the Utah Jazz. Although coach Tai Liu said that Leonard is doing individual work, he is not sure when Leonard will be able to play.

“He feels pretty good. He’s moving in the right direction,” Liu told Murray via The Athletic’s Law. “That’s the most important thing for us… There’s really no timeline for when he’ll be back.”

, and spends an average of 21 minutes off the bench. He had 11 points and six rebounds in their last loss to the Phoenix Suns on October 23, but only shot 2 of 6 from the field.

Leonard, who missed all of last season with an ACL injury, has reported some stiffness in his knee. Since then, he has kept it out due to “injury management”.

Although the team initially struggled without him, the Clippers won three straight games against Utah on Sunday.

It is now unclear when Leonard will return to the floor. Liu, at least publicly, does not specify any time frame, which, given where Leonard is coming from, is fair. In any case, there is no need to risk his health in the long run, especially at this point in the season.

Although the news may be disappointing, Liu said that Leonard is still in good spirits. This failure, he says, was not entirely unexpected.

“He’s progressing well,” Liu said. “We knew that after the removal of the anterior cruciate ligament, it would not be a straight line … We will just follow the instructions of our medical staff. We have to act wisely, but he is progressing.”
