The two former NFL stars clashed in the ring on Saturday night when Le’Veon Bell took on Adrian Peterson. Unlike most celebrity exhibition boxing matches, this one had the ultimate winner—official or not—when Bell knocked out Peterson with a powerful right hand.

Bell and Peterson met on the undercard of the Social Gloves card at Banc of California in Los Angeles.

The fight was easy for the first four rounds, the highlight of which was a knockdown by Peterson with a chest punch. Bell lost his balance and may have tripped over Peterson’s feet, but fell anyway.

In the fifth round, Bell leaned back with his right hand raised and waited for Peterson to throw his right. As Peterson went to strike, Bell unloaded the counterattack, causing Peterson to collapse to the canvas.

Although Peterson was able to beat the count, his eyes were glassy and he staggered, forcing the referee to stop the bout.

Due to the fact that the fight was an exhibition fight, there was technically no winner in the fight. However, it was clearly a big moment for Bell, who said he intends to keep taking any fights he can, celebrity or pro.

“I had a great performance. I put in a lot of effort,” Bell said. “All this hate just motivates me. I wear it as a badge of honor and use it as a motivation to get better.”
