LeBron James may not be able to take part in the showdown between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines, but he will still make his mark. James, a longtime Ohio fan, sent the Buckeyes custom boots.

On Wednesday, Ohio State’s official football Twitter account posted photos of the boots that James had sent to the team. This is the Nike Air Zoom Generation, James’ first signature studded shoe.

James took to social media, stating that he needs to make sure Ohio State looks good for a monumental showdown with the Wolverines. He even avoided using the letter “M” in his tweet.

James, a native of Akron, Ohio, has been to several major Ohio sporting events over the years, but will have to miss out on Michigan this week. James and the Los Angeles Lakers will be in San Antonio to play the Spurs.

With Ohio State and Michigan going 11-0, the bitter rivals will be vying for a spot in the Big Ten championship game, and likely a place in the college football playoffs. After breaking an eight-game losing streak against Ohio State last season, Michigan will try to do so twice in a row against the Buckeyes for the first time since 2000.

The game kicks off at Ohio Stadium in Columbus at 12:00 pm ET this Saturday, and the Buckeyes will be wearing James’ boots when they hit the field.
