Lydia Ko makes ace, breaks course record during honeymoon

If there was a competition for the best honeymoon, believe me, Lydia Ko would win it.

The current No. 1 in the world, Ko married Jun Chung on December 30 in her native South Korea and then spent her honeymoon in Ko’s homeland of New Zealand, the nation she represents.

And what did the lovebirds do on their honeymoon? Golf. A lot of.

Full field time from Honda LPGA Thailand

The duo were playing at Tara Iti Golf Club where a rather magical moment took place.

“Did a hole in the first hole, I think the second hole at Tara Iti Golf Club, and I broke the women’s course record there, so it was a pretty good day at the office.

“We played a lot of golf on our honeymoon. It’s one of the things we both love to do and can do together, so we played a lot of golf. perhaps it was my first hole in one, as well as out of competition. So really, I couldn’t have been better,” Ko reflected.

Starting 2023 with such success, even just playing casually, could be a good omen for getting married and playing Ko.

Ko returned to competition last week with a win at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International. This week she will try to keep the trend going at Honda LPGA Thailand.
