Matthew Wolff, Eugenio Chacarra, Carlos Ortiz round out LIV Portland field

Matthew Wolf and Carlos Ortiz are the latest PGA Tour members to join LIV Golf, the startup league announced Monday.

Both players are due to play in this week’s LIV tournament in Portland, Oregon, along with Eugenio Chacarra, a two-time Oklahoma State All-American and the world’s No. 2 amateur before turning pro.

The 48-player course at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club will include Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reid and Phil Mickelson.

Wolf found immediate success after turning pro, only winning his third pro start at the 2019 3M Open, but has struggled with mental health issues in recent years and is currently 77 years old.th in the world rankings.

Ortiz won last year’s Houston Open and represented Mexico at the 2020 Olympics.

This is the second LIV event and the first in the US.

During a player meeting last week at the Travelers Championship, Tour commissioner Jay Monahan reaffirmed the circuit’s stance that players who defy the rules and enter LIVs have no way back into the Tour.
