The 26-man U.S. Men’s National Team squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup has been officially released after coach Gregg Berhalter unveiled the team at an event in New York. With Wales, England and Iran on the schedule, there is pressure on the national team to erase the lows of an eight-year wait to return to the tournament and build on the highs we saw with the home success over Mexico.

Famous names not mentioned include goalkeeper Zach Steffen and 19-year-old striker Ricardo Pepi. We brought the news that Steffen would have been delisted the night before the big opening. Here look at five biggest snubs from the final cast.

What you need to know: One of the biggest names on the team, Dest is a player with so much talent but little production to back him up. A bad move at Barcelona has now brought him to AC Milan and things aren’t much better. A likely starter, but a huge weak point in the team.
