“It is true that it has not always been easy to cycle through the Middle East. There were no problems with GPS, because there are not so many roads. For example, we spent four weeks crossing Saudi Arabia, it is very easy, there is one road and you ride on it. But the conditions are very difficult for cyclists, it is hot, there is a strong wind in the desert, we sometimes found ourselves cycling through sandstorms in Saudi Arabia .And when you cross big cities, it’s very difficult. Riyadh was extremely complex, it’s a huge city, a bit like Doha although Doha is a bit smaller. They are made for cars only, cars are king and bikes are outcasts. It was impossible to cross by bike so we traveled as best we could and there were some moments that were a bit bad in terms of security. And it’s a bit like Doha, although Doha has a different “color” for us because it’s a city at the end of the desert at the end of this tunnel. This is the end of our adventure e, the place of our arrival.”

The couple were deeply moved by the hospitality they experienced in the Middle East.

Upon their arrival, the French Football Federation offered them tickets for a France match.
