Metz right-handed William Woods the waivers were officially lifted on Friday, and the team immediately sent him to Triple-A Syracuse.

Woods was put on a mission early last week to make room for a comeback. Adam Piccolo on a list of 40 people. With Otto officially back on the team, the roster remains complete so they will have to make more moves for any further additions.

The Mets sued Woods from the Atlanta Braves back in November. So far, he’s only played two games in his major league career, although he’s knocked out a couple of batters in those two stints.

He struggled a little last season in the junior years, posting a 6.04 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 25.1 innings of work across three levels of the system. However, Woods was one of the top 30 leads in the Atlanta farm system.

Woods has the ability to touch three figures with his fastball, so he really brings an intriguing hand to the Mets system.
