Michael Bisping doesn’t understand why Conor McGregor is so mad at him.

After Bisping and Anthony Smith spoke about McGregor trying to challenge the former UFC middleweight champion’s acting skills, Bisping discussed the situation on his podcast. Believe me, called McGregor a “jerk”. These comments elicited a furious reaction from McGregor as he told Bisping, “I’m going to bash your head in.”

“If you watched the show, we laughed,” Bisping said. “This is a fucking joke, obviously, there were no threats from my side. But he kind of flipped the lid, didn’t he? He lost his mind.

“Anyway, Conor, take it easy mate. Jesus, damn Christ. Here you go”.

McGregor’s response was sent through a flurry of deleted tweets along with a voice note.

“Bisping, you will fuck everyone, little sprinter, I will break your head,” McGregor said. “Dirty fighter, shitty actor. Sirius head Hmm.

“You’ll see when you see me. … Who will do what and who needs what. Let’s see.”

“You want to go to war, dude, right? Wanna go to the fucking war? We’ll go to war with you, right? McGregor announced this in his voice note on Twitter. “Security. You little sausage. I’ll put you on guard… when you’re back in Vegas, mate. … Keep my name out of your fucking mouth or any threatening behavior, or I’ll walk through your door… You, little junkie. [Go] where you belong, you little clown, you little sprinter.

Bisping responded to McGregor’s request not to reveal the name of the former two-division champion, telling him that this was not possible, given that McGregor is one of the greatest stars in the history of the sport.

“I was told to keep his name out of my fucking mouth,” Bisping said sarcastically. “How the hell can I do this? I can not do it. I’m talking about MMA and he’s the biggest MMA star. When you become a star of this magnitude, people will talk.”

While Smith believes he would not have handled the Twitter flurry with the same maturity, Bisping doubled down on the fact that he was joking and that the context in print was not the same as his real feelings.

“He took a picture of my acting job and we had a laugh about it on the podcast,” Bisping explained. “But that’s what happens when you get older. You learn to turn the other cheek.”
