Mikuru Asakura vs. Juntaro Ushiku set for RIZIN LANDMARK 5 main event, Juan Archuleta to fight at RIZIN 42

Mikuru Asakura returns to the RIZIN ring for his first fight since his fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Asakaura made headlines last September when he fought Mayweather in an exhibition bout at the Super RIZIN tournament in Saitama, Japan. Mayweather defeated Asakura by knockout in the second round.

Ushiku is looking to get back into the winning column after a second round loss to Kléber Koike cost him the RIZIN Featherweight title and snapped a four win streak.

RIZIN LANDMARK 5 is billed as a dual main event where Yutaka Saito (20-7-2) and kickboxer Ren Hiramoto (2-2) will battle it out in the featherweight division as one of the headliners.

Sakakibara also announced that former Bellator bantamweight champion Juan Archuleta (27-4) will compete in RIZIN 42 on May 6 in Tokyo. Archuleta made a successful debut in Japan last December, defeating Soo Chul Kim via split decision at Bellator MMA vs. RIZIN. The opponent for Archuleta has not yet been determined.

Also scheduled on the April 29 undercard are Koji Takeda vs. Luis Gustavo, Tsuyoshi Sudario vs. Roque Martinez, RENA vs. Claire Lopez, and Kanna Asakura vs. Mei Yamaguchi.
