With much of the baseball world focused on Aaron Judge’s pursuit of the American League home run record, the hottest player in baseball right now could very well be another New York batter. Mets first baseman Pete Alonso has 1,309 OPS with three home runs and 10 RBIs in the last seven games and is now tied with the referee for the MLB lead in runs (128). However, if you’re thinking about using him on your Tuesday night MLB DFS rosters, you might want to be wary of his matchup against Marlins right-hander Pablo Lopez.
Alonso is just 4 of 18 in his career against Lopez, and the right-hander has given up just three earned runs in 13.1 innings in his last two games. So should you ride Alonso’s impressive streak or work the splits? And who else in the MLB DFS player pool should be on your radar as the MLB season draws to a close? Anyone who included it in their lineups was on their way to a profitable day.

McClure’s Best MLB DFS Picks for Tuesday, September 27, 2022
One of McClure’s top picks in the MLB DFS on Tuesday is Braves third baseman Austin Riley, who is listed at $5,100 on DraftKings and $3,700 on FanDuel. After a breakout year as he finished in the top 10 in NL MVP voting and won the NL Silver Slugger at third base, Riley had another massive offensive season in 2022 and became the cornerstone of MLB daily Fantasy’s success.
Riley leads the National League with a total of 317 bases for the year, 37 home runs, 38 doubles and 92 RBIs for the season, cutting .278/.351/.537. On Tuesday, he will take on national right-hander Paolo Espino, and he has had incredible success against the 35-year-old Panamanian. Riley has 7 of 16 in Espino’s lifetime with two home runs, two doubles and five RBIs.
Another piece of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy involves Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham ($4,400 on DraftKings and $3,000 on FanDuel). After spending the first few months of the season in Cincinnati with the Reds, Pham was acquired by the Red Sox for a player to be named (Nicholas Northcutt) at the MLB trade deadline.
Pham has had his ups and downs since arriving in Boston, but has hit 17 off-base hits (six home runs and 11 doubles) in 46 games for the Red Sox. He will take on Orioles right-hander Kyle Bradish on Tuesday, who comes into the game with a 4.65 ERA on the year.
