In 2022, USADA tested Jiri Prochazka more than any other UFC fighter.
Per USADA records, the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion is the doping agency’s favorite athlete by a significant margin. Prochazka has been tested a whopping 61 times this year. By comparison, the closest fighter samples submitted are middleweight contender Paulo Costa and featherweight prospect Ariana Carnelossi, who each scored 20 points. The Brazilian tandem is the only other two of the 749 fighters that have submitted 20 or more samples. Only 33 other fighters, apart from Prochazka, Costa and Carnelossi, have been tested 10 or more times.
“Yeah, it’s a little annoying,” Prochaska said. ESPN his regular USADA visits. “But if this is the price of being a champion, I will pay it.
“[It’s been] more than 50 times, I don’t know. I don’t count.
Prochaska became champion last June in Singapore at UFC 275, defeating Glover Teixeira in the Fight of the Year Candidate. As one of many title comeback victories in a crazy 2022, Denisa landed a last-minute rear naked choke to force Teixeira to press.
Due to the nature of the fight, seeing Teixeira on his way to a successful defense had he not been stopped, Prochazka was less than pleased with his performance. On December 10, a rematch will take place in Las Vegas, which will give Prochaska a chance to right his wrongs, despite the fact that he won in the first part.
“I will show my best game, like every time,” Prochazka said. “But I’m just working on my mistakes from the last fight and I don’t want to repeat those mistakes from wrestling, from jiu-jitsu and show more of my stand-up, because I just showed that I think about 50, 20 percent.
“I fight because I want to show my best performance. It’s all about it. To be content with it. About satisfaction. I want to be more satisfied with my performance, that’s all I do.”
Prochazka, 30, has been one of the most exciting fighters in all of MMA since his arrival in April 2012. Of his 29 career victories in 33 fights, he won only once by decision.
Hoping to kick off his reign with a sharper game against his Brazilian counterpart, the Czech native aims to one day be the best in all divisions.
“Become the best fighter in the world,” Prochaska said of his goals. “I will prove that I am the best in the weight class. This is the goal, and I will achieve it.”

USADA must think Prochazka is supplying rocket fuel or something, because those numbers are outrageous.
