Nathaniel Owusu talks recent Rutgers football offer

In early March, Rutgers Football Club approached Nathaniel Owus with a promising player who plans to become one of the top linebackers in his recruiting class.

Originally from Virginia, Owusu is a student at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Owusu – Class of 2025 with a folded offer list this includes AuburnBoston College, Cincinnati, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Our Lady, Ohio, penn state and South Carolina among others. He is most likely a four-star recruit and one of the top 250 recruits in the country.

Owusu moves well with good leg and hip work. He has an impressive height of 6ft 2ft and weighs 205lbs.

The national rookie said he expected Rutgers’ offer, just didn’t expect it to come so quickly.

“Great experience just talking to coach Greg Schiano and he told me about everything the school has to offer. I love their unity/brotherhood,” Owusu told Rutgers Wire.

What stands out about Rutgers, Owusu said, is the connection he felt with Schiano and the staff. Also on the call was Marquise Watson, coach of the Rutgers defensive line.

“It was love, they told me they looked at me for a long time and wanted to reach out and propose to me,” Owusu said.

Now, a couple of weeks after the offer was removed, Owusu said the same feeling still stands out.

“Just the family atmosphere and the scent they give off,” Owusu said.

“I love our connections.”

Owusu said he expects to visit Rutgers on an informal visit this summer.
