New photos show big changes coming to the famous par-5 13th hole at Augusta National

Augusta National is no stranger to change.

In the 2022 edition of the Masters, changes were made to 11th and 15th holes, both adding spacing and various other adjustments to return the holes to how they were designed to be played when the course was originally built.

Looks like they made it to par 5 13thwhich for many years has been the source of questions about whether the hole is still held by the ever-increasing distance at which players tee it.

Eureka Earth, a Twitter account owned by Augusta flight instructor David Dobbins, recently posted aerial shots of 13 aircraft.th a fairway and a potential new tee at a famous club.

As you can see, almost the entire pit is under construction, something like a new drain is being laid under the fairway.

The real question is whether the new tee is being installed behind the trees that have long bordered 13th tee

If this is the case, the hole will be lengthened by about 40-60 yards, possibly causing more players to hit drivers rather than 3-woods if they hope to get hit from around the corner on the famous par 5 with left leg bend. .

Don’t expect an official announcement from Augusta National anytime soon. The club did not comment on the changes made to holes 11 and 15 until February this year, less than two months before the start of the Masters.
