NFL playoffs: 49ers deny Cowboys in playoffs again; advance to another NFC championship game

For the second consecutive season, the San Francisco 49ers eliminated the Dallas Cowboys from the playoffs.

In a close defensive struggle, the 49ers won 19–12 in the divisional playoff game at Levy Stadium.

Last season, San Francisco defeated Dallas 23-17 on the road in the wild-card round.

The Cowboys have failed to make the NFC Championship for 27 consecutive years, and a promising season ends in disappointment for Dallas.

Meanwhile, the 49ers head to the NFC title game for the third time in four seasons. Next Sunday they will go to meet the Philadelphia Eagles.
