Tampa Bay Buccaneers change shoes in 2022.
Tampa Bay is drafting seasoned player Bradley Piñon, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said Wednesday, according to a source.
Pinion’s departure did not come as a complete surprise. In the 2022 draft, the Buccaneers selected Georgia player Jake Camarda in the fourth round, essentially leading to Camarda replacing Pinion. Instead of a camp battle for a job, the Buccaneers cleared the way for Kamarda to take over before preseason began.
Pinion’s last season in Tampa Bay was not without its challenges. In 2021, Pinion faced hip issues (tear labrum and pinched hip), recording a career-low 42.5 yards per punt in 15 games played.
Before being released, Pignon underwent a medical examination, which gave him the opportunity to sign with potential teams. Garafolo said that several teams are expected to show interest in Pinion’s services.
