Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin made a major move on Friday as he returned from an ACL injury. Godwin, who tore his cruciate ligament in the 15th week of last season, took part in his first training session with the team.

The movement is evidence that Godwin has made tremendous progress since his anterior cruciate ligament tear. It was hinted that it was early in camp when Godwin avoided the list of the physically unable to compete. Although this was reassuring, it was hard to believe in Godwin’s quick recovery until he took the field.

On Friday, Godwin worked out with a corset, which shows he still wants to protect his knee. The fact that he was out of action less than eight months after the injury is an encouraging sign for Buccaneers fans.

Tom Brady wasn’t the one to pass Godwin on Friday. Brady got an excused absence from practice to personal business.
