NFL Week 11 picks: Streaking Vikings stay hot against Cowboys; Steelers upset Bengals; Niners keep rolling

There’s a chance that Josh Allen’s injury is a NothingBurger (an extra $2 of cheese). Maybe we all gave too much to that right elbow injury that magically coincided with Buffalo going from a clear title contender to the AFC’s sixth seed and third-best team in the AFC East.

Personally, I tend to think otherwise. Slow injury leak followed by Sean McDermott calling Allen “hour after hour” before the game where he lay on the ground holding his elbow after he rolled over after a bad interception… I hope I’m wrong, mostly because Josh Allen is an outstanding sports talent, I want to watch him play football, but it all stinks.

We all saw the televised moment against the Jets where his elbow was injured. Then it wasn’t until Wednesday (72 hours?) before we got the odd message (hour after hour is just absurd) about his elbow from the head coach. Then he was obviously offended.

So what’s going on here? Is Allen struggling with a season-ending injury knowing that Billy is the favorite? He is alright? Is this a situation where rest doesn’t matter and Buffalo is just playing chicken with his quarterback?

The last 10 quarters of football have not had MVP Josh Allen. I’m not a medical professional (even though I went to college) but connect the dots here. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen (I would believe anything Mort says, especially about Allen based on my experience) reported the injury to UCL and we haven’t received anything from the bills since.

I don’t know the specifics of the injury, so I can’t weigh the short-term versus long-term risk/reward for Buffalo. Allen won’t stop playing until they take him away because he’s a warrior.

But he’s not the same player he was at the beginning of the season. His elbow is clearly damaged and despite having Case Keenum as a capable backup to potentially rest their QB superstar, the Bills roll him out there.

From what I understand, they know rest doesn’t change anything, and they’re going all-in this year – and Allen is on board, too. It seems very short-sighted for a long-term front office, but it’s hard not to chase the Super Bowl as the favorite. I hope I’m wrong. Let’s choose some games.

This game is played before the Pick Six Podcast best bets show; otherwise, it would definitely qualify as a revenge game. Two things may be true here. First, Mike Vrabel is one of the top five coaches in the NFL and perhaps the most underrated head coach in professional football. Secondly, Aaron Rodgers could find an opportunity to make the playoffs. I jumped on the ESPN playoff car The bottom line is, if the Rodgers and Packers offense gets hot and the chalk holds, Green Bay might intervene. You can get the Packers +320 to make the playoffs at Caesars right now, which is what we need to make up for those disastrous Packers bets on the division.

Impossible downside if you don’t know what status Josh Allen has. No one does, and I refuse to believe he’s just “fine” after throwing 40+ times in another losing attempt. The Clevelands aren’t very good defensively, but the Bills can be beaten in a rush game, and Nick Chubb specializes in explosive rush play. Because of a touchdown with an injured Allen? I think you should take points with the Browns.

Choice: Bills 27, Browns 24

Nick Sirianni’s revenge game!!! Sirianni loves Frank Reich and the Colts fired his old boss because of Jeff Saturday; not sure if you’ve heard of it or not. Philadelphia after their first loss and Indy after their first win on Saturday/Sunday is a clear place for the Eagles.

Choice: Eagles 35, Colts 17
