NFL Week 12 picks, odds: Cowboys roll past Giants on Thanksgiving; backup Mike White helps Jets win

Dajani Dimes continues to collect winning weeks. Vegas knows everything, but it was great to use them to our advantage with that Washington Commanders -3 line against the Houston Texans. We got bitten by the Kansas City Chiefs against the Los Angeles Chargers. Patrick Mahomes 4-1 vs. Justin Herbert but only 1-4 against the spread!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones. If you want to get some action in the games while the in-laws are arguing about politics, check out my detailed guide. here.

Whatever faith I lost in the Cowboys after their loss to the Green Bay Packers, I regained them after a 40-3 win over the Minnesota Vikings. This is how a legitimate opponent reacts after a defeat. As for the Giants, they lost to the Detroit Lions at home on Sunday and suffered some notable injuries that will affect them this short week.

It’s a big spread, but I want to put an end to the Cowboys. The Giants have lost two of their last three games since the start of the season 6-1, and they’ve struggled strangely with first downs, both offensively and defensively. The Daniel Jones division averages 4.4 yards per game on first downs (the second-lowest in the NFL), while the defense allows an average of 6.9 yards per game on first downs (the most in the NFL). We saw what the Cowboys did to the Vikings last week. Tony Pollard recorded 189 post-fight yards and two touchdowns while the defense didn’t allow a single touchdown.

These are two teams moving in opposite directions. If Cooper Rush can beat the Giants by seven points away, what will Dak Prescott do at home?

Choice: Cowboys -10
Predicted score: Cowboys 31-17

My two cents on Zach Wilson’s bench press:

  • Zach Wilson was sent to the bench mainly due to comments he made after losing to the New England Patriots.
  • Zach Wilson probably deserves to be benched for his performance alone.
  • Mike White is going to put some juice into this offense.

The Jets were 4.5 points ahead of the Bears before the news that Wilson had gone to the bench. They now have a six-point lead.

I said on Twitter before I even knew who would be the starting quarterback that the Jets are the best pick this week. They have a great team! All they need is a quarterback who can do basic passes and I think whites can do that. As for the Bears, Justin Fields has been in tears lately, but he hasn’t been able to make Chicago win on his own. Now that he’s beaten, I don’t expect that to change. Give me the Jets so I can cover the houses.

Choice: Jets -6
Predicted score: Jets 24-16

I don’t like five points because it’s a weird number, but why not take advantage? If you’ve been following my profit column, you’ve probably noticed that I’ve been in all commanders – picking them to upset the Packers and the Indianapolis Colts straight with plus money as the best bets. This WAS -3 line last week was also too easy.

Ron Rivera’s frown has turned over since Taylor Heinicke took over as quarterback. The Commanders head coach used to drop bombs at press conferences and fly out of post-game media sessions. Now he shines on Zoom calls and talks about wearing Heinicke T-shirts. Washington is expected to get another boost this week with the return of forward Chase Young, who we all know will bring energy. Heinicke is 10-2-1 ATS in his last 13 starts. Give me Commanders home.

Choice: Commanders -4.5
Predicted score: Commanders 28-21

I am not new when it comes to double digit spreads. I mean, how many people considered the lowly Carolina Panthers to score 13 against the rested Baltimore Ravens at home as the best bet, like me? Miami beat the Cleveland Browns by 22 points in their last game. What the Dolphins are going to do with Kyle Allen…
