Kittle, a three-time pro bowler who received plaudits for his game and fitness, has now missed multiple games in four consecutive seasons. In his 2021 Pro Bowl campaign, Kittle played in 14 games and had 71 receptions, 910 yards and six touchdown catches.

After losing to the Chicago Bears earlier in the season, the Niners are now 6-9 in career games without Kittle, including losing six of their last seven games without him. Against the Bears, San Francisco quarterback Trey Lance targeted tight ends Ross Duelley and Tyler Croft a total of four times for a total of two catches for 20 yards.

The 49ers are 2-7 against the Seahawks with Kittle playing and he’s held up to four catches or fewer in five of those games. In his last matchup against Seattle, he had his best game in the NFC West rivalry when he had nine catches for 181 yards and a couple of touchdowns, but San Francisco still lost.

San Francisco lost four games in a row to the Seahawks and will look to end that streak without Kittle.
