After a competitive first round in which both fighters showed off their wrestling skills, it was the champion of Senegal who took control in the second round, turning Gazzaev’s attempt into a takedown of his own and quickly taking the top spot. From there, Reug-Rug brought down his fists-hammers on the captured Gazzaev. Most of the punches landed on Gazzaev’s hands as he raised them in defense, but referee Herb Dean called off the fight due to Gazzaev showing no sign he was about to get out of the predicament.
