Packers sign rookie tight end Josh Babicz to practice squad

The Green Bay Packers switched places on the practice team, releasing Sean Beyer to make room for rookie Josh Babic.

Babić, an undrafted free agent from North Dakota, has spent time with the Carolina Panthers this year, including in the team’s practice squad.

In NDSU, Babic caught 40 passes for 655 yards and 11 touchdowns in 55 career games. His most important work came as a blocking tight end.

In the preseason, Babić caught one pass for three yards while playing for the Panthers. He played 20 snaps in total.

Babić, selected to the 2021 Missouri Valley Football Conference Second Team, joins former Bison teammate Christian Watson in Green Bay.

Babić will wear number 80 for the Packers.
