Believe me, the Detroit Pistons’ roster is currently 13 people. Turn on Marvin Bagley III and he’s already 14. Barring any extra moves (and they can certainly be extra moves), they’ll only have one free choice slot. – 22:53

Bobby Marks @BobbyMarks42
Detroit inherited Alec Burks’ $10 million contract and Nerlens Noel’s $9.2 million salary.
Both players have a team option for the 2023/24 season.
The deal leaves DET with $23 million, but that doesn’t account for the FA holding Marvin Bagley III.
DET made Bagley III a $7.2 million qualifying offer. – 21:53

More about this plot

Keith Smith: Detroit On July 1, the Pistons made a $7.2 million qualifying offer to make Marvin Bagley III a restricted free agent. a league source says @spotrac. -by using Twitter @KeithSmithNBA / June 28, 2022

Frank Jackson and Hamidou Diallo have team options to be determined by Tuesday. Diallo has a $5.2 million team option and is expected to be picked by the Pistons, according to sources. As for Jackson, sources tell The Athletic that the Pistons do not expect him to take his $3.1 million option. If Detroit does, it could be a deal. Overall, though, I don’t expect Jackson to be on this team next season. The decision was then made to bring back Marvin Bagley III, who was acquired from the Kings shortly before the trade deadline and is a restricted free agent. All the suspicions I got is that the Pistons are intent on bringing back Bagley, who has a $28 million cap. -by using Athletic / June 27, 2022

Amid high speculation about Detroit’s intentions for Jerami Grant (will he finally be traded?) and whether the Pistons will actually go after high-profile free agents like Ayton or Dallas’ Jalen Brunson, league sources say The Pistons are very interested in re-signing recently acquired Marvin Bagley III. The former king of Sacramento made a positive impression in his half season with Motown. -by using marcstein.substack.com / June 20, 2022
