Those who were hoping that Tiger Woods will perform next week at The Players Championship will have to wait a little longer.
The 144-player field includes 43 of the world’s top 50 players, but does not include the 2001 and 13 champions.
Woods spoke at the Genesis Invitational about his schedule but evaded a question about whether he would play another PGA Tour before the Masters. He was supposed to either be at TPC Sawgrass or next at the Augusta National, and it looks like Woods settled on the latter.
The ever-evolving battle for world number one continues next week in Ponta Vedra Beach, with Rory McIlroy looking to win a second Players Championship (2019) and John Ram and Scotty Sheffler aiming for their first ever Players Championship win.
